Ashutosh is an MBA worked in the corporate sector for twenty-five years, of which seventeen were at ITC Limited where he rose to become the youngest ever managing director of any ITC group company. In January 1995, he was recognised as a 'Global Leader for Tomorrow' by the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland. He left ITC at the same year and spent eight years in the aerospace industry. In 2003 he started a chain of health and beauty retail outlets in north India under the brand name Guardian Pharmacy (www.guardian.in) which has now grown to over 230 outlets is adding two new stores each week. He is also the author of the bestselling book 'The Buck Stops Here'.
Ashutosh is the member of the Young Presidents' Organisation since 1994 as well as a charter member of TiE. He also serves on the board of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization and on the boards of several companies. He is an avid golfer, plays the Indian flute and enjoys reading and listening to Indian classical and vocal music.
