Kunal graduated under Jerome Fisher programme in Management and Technology from University of Pennsylvania, holds a degree of Bachelor of Applied Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School. He has been Director of Snapdeal since its incorporation. He serves as a non-official member of National Startup Advisory Council, an elected member of the Board of Governors of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations as well as a member of the Nasscom Executive Council. He acted as the Chairman of the CII’s National Committee on eCommerce for the year 2020 -2021. He is currently acting as a director on the board of Investcorp Acquisition Corp. as well as an independent director on the board of Piramal Enterprises Limited.
Kunal is an influential voice on issues pertaining to Indian start-ups and entrepreneurship. He is the Chair of the CII E-Commerce Committee and a member of the Executive Council at NASSCOM.
In addition to his full-time role at Snapdeal, Kunal has a deep connect with many other Indian start-ups and is a mentor and active investor in many of them. He has invested in dozens of start-ups in India. Some of these are Ola Cabs, Urban Company, Razorpay, Shadowfax, Bira, Beardo, Khatabook, Mamaearth, Fynd etc.
