At London Business School, Prof. Houlder has held a part time position alongside his other professional interests since 1995 where he teaches across the full range of graduate degree programmes and is a multiple winner of teaching awards.
Previously, he was Group Strategy Director for Blue Circle Industries plc and earlier worked for The Boston Consulting Group in the UK, Spain and Mexico. He is a Governor and Council Member of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Trustee of the Clore Social Leadership Foundation where he chairs the Audit and Risk Committee.
He is Academic Director for the School’s Global Business Consortium, which is for small groups of leaders moving into the most senior positions at Oracle, Mars, Johnson & Johnson, BUPA, DP World and Emirates Group. Currently, he is advising the Executive Board of the Qatar Foundation, the leadership team of EY Central America and senior management of Cello Health plc. From 2013 to 2017 he worked with Deloitte to develop and co-lead the firm’s Growth Escalator programme, for a wide range of CEOs of UK mid-market clients.
His articles have appeared in a broad range of publications, including Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. In 2019 Kogan Page published his latest co-authored book: “How Philosophy Can Teach You to Be a Better Leader”. Dominic has an MA in History from Cambridge University, an MBA from Stanford Business School and an MPhil by Research in Philosophy from Buckingham University with Distinction.
